Dr. Rupesh Manohar Surwade is a distinguished academician, researcher, and design professional with over 18 years of experience in design, planning, construction techniques, sketching/rendering, and various manufacturing methods. He holds a Ph.D. in Design from Lovely Professional University, Punjab (2024), an M.Des in Industrial Design from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi (2007), and a B.Arch. from School of Architecture, COE&T, Akola (2005).
His expertise spans Product Design, Architecture, Furniture Design, Retail Design, and Product Development, with a strong emphasis on model-making as a creative skill and investigative tool in design education.
Professional Contributions & Achievements :
Dr. Surwade has made significant contributions to both academia and industry. He has successfully led design projects for renowned government and private organizations, including Mother Dairy, Samsung, Maruti Suzuki, Revlon, Sony, LG, Fuji Film, and Kodak, during his tenure at Entasis India Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi.
As one of the founding faculty members at the DYPDC Centre for Automotive Research and Studies (Ajeenkya DY Patil University, Pune) in 2010, he collaborated with Italian car designer Emanuele Nicosia (Pininfarina, Ferrari) and renowned Indian automotive designer Dilip Chhabria (DC Design).
He has also held prestigious academic leadership roles, serving as:

Officiating Principal - Jhulelal Institute of Architecture, Nagpur University (2016-2017)
In 2023, he was a juror for the Maharashtra Student Innovation Challenge, organized by the Maharashtra State Innovation Society, under the Department of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, Government of Maharashtra.
Currently, he serves as the Head of Marketing and Communication for the Association of Designers of India (ADI) - Nagpur Chapter and is a reviewer for The Journal of Architecture and Built Environment Research (JABER).
